By exploring her own vocal apparatus, Elena Boillat composes and performs a score drawn from the sonic reminiscences that inhabit her, transforming physical endurance and the flow of breath into an extreme vocal emission, in contrast with the slow unfolding and expansion of movements and moments of stillness.
Inspired by the structure of the sonata form and certain rituals, the performance moves between dysphonic singing, resonators, and moments of absolute silent contemplation, revealing a breathing, sonic physicality immersed in stage spaces that are always stripped and bare, where the environment is respected in everything it offers, including the quality of light. In these spaces, the body becomes both unique instrument and subject, establishing an intimate perceptual dialogue with the imagination and acoustic perception of those who witness it, leading the audience on a pre-linguistic journey with shifting boundaries.
