Landkino and Zauberlaterne are two film series that show the half-timbered houses.

Landkino is a series of studio films usually on the last Thursday of the month.

This is curated in  Cooperation with the Stadtkino Basel.

Current cinema films are usually programmed with a connection to the region:

feature, documentary and docu-fiction films

-  urban/rural development

- Architecture

- peripheral position

- Three-country region

- Life Sciences

- craft

The Landkino series is aimed at a young at heart, awake audience to think and laugh  dares.

The Magic Lantern is a film club for primary school children aged 6 to 12.

Its goal is to awaken the joy of special films in the youngest and to bring them closer to the language of film.

The Magic Lantern shows a film selected for the children in a cinema once a month during the school year.

During nine performances, the children experience a journey through 100 years of film history.

With the magic lantern, the children discover the grammar of the film in a playful way: dramaturgy, montage technique, analogue and digital sound and image processing - the children learn to decode the technical film code.

Each child who becomes a member will have the club newspaper sent home about ten days before each performance. In it, the next film will be announced and explained.

The club newspaper is prepared for children and co-designed by the well-known Swiss illustrator Yves Noyau.

The magic lantern cinema is very different from ordinary cinema. Nothing to eat and nothing to drink is the order of the day, the film should be enough food for the eyes, ears and soul. The performance is accompanied by an animator who will comment on the film from start to finish.

The children also take part in the film screenings without their parents, and the responsible adults take care of them in the hall.
